About the Role
The Oracle Database Administrator (DBA) position is a unique opportunity for an individual with extensive experience seeking new challenges and broad database administration responsibility. The successful candidate will be responsible for monitoring, maintenance and operational support of our entire portfolio of databases. Maintain reliability, stability and data integrity of the databases and ExaData. Provide support in the administration, backup, integrity and security of various Oracle databases. Responsible for maintaining and improving policy and procedures to meet current and future needs.. Mentor DBA’s, Developers and other’s in the IT organization that utilizes Oracle.
Additional Responsibilities
• Develop, document and test DBA policy and procedures.
• Manage all levels of database security and data integrity through the development life cycle.
• Assist with the development of the DBA Services standards as well as provide training on the supported IT systems, applications and database to other internal DBA and internal customers (end users and programmers).
• Manage Exadata HW with Linux OS.
• Provide primary problem management support by receiving, trouble shooting and solving the daily problems reported by internal customers.
• Develop database strategies, tool selection, and internal scripts for support internal customers and overall company needs.
• Develop implementation plans, computer system validation and departmental procedure for these strategies.
• Research and assist with the implementation and more advanced database modules and features (clustering, replication, partitioning).
• Install, upgrade and patch Oracle databases so that our environments remain current
• Assist users with both basic SQL questions and sophisticated SQL tuning strategies
• Analyze database resource consumption, for problem avoidance and trend forecasting
• Test backup and recovery scenarios, as well as formulate disaster recovery procedures
• On-call requirements to ensure 24 x 7 support of database operations
Qualifications
• Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent combination of education and experience.
• 5+ years’ experience as a database administrator in an Oracle environment
• 5+ year experience in PL/SQL, scripting, query and database tuning
• 2-3+ years of Oracle database development
• Strong programming experience in PL/SQL and UNIX shell scripting
• Expertise in Oracle 12c,19c, Oracle Exadata, RAC, DataGuard, ASM, RMAN, PL/SQL
• Experience of administering OEM
• Ability to work on-call to ensure 24x7 support of database operations
• Experience with Monitoring & Diagnostic tools
• Experience working with Windows and Linux installation, configuration, tuning of Oracle 11g/12c
• Good written and oral communication skills.

• Ability to conduct research into database issues, standards and products as required.
